Was Santa good to you? He was to the Clippers...

Let's start off talking about the NBA special on Christmas. We will talk about the bowl games today and the NFL. So let's play ball.

The NBA on Christmas started off with a whooping on the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics smashed them all around. The score didn't show it but the stats did. The Lakers ended up with a big late game win over the Knicks. I think the Knicks got robbed in the end, on the in bounds play where the ball was thrown out of bounds Carmelo was held, Kobe was holding him so he couldn't get to the ball. Next was the best game of the day. The Heat finished off the Thunder in the final seconds. The Heat got lucky on that missed three by Russell Westbrook, he was hit on the arm and no one called the foul. The Rockets beat the Bulls badly 120-97. It was and ugly game by the Bulls. Then the final game of the day was the Clippers A.K.A. the new showtime team against the Nuggets. The Clippers just wore out the Nuggets by dunking it almost every possession. The Clippers did end up beating the Nuggets by a pretty descent score.

The Military Bowl is today and its one of my favorite teams, San Jose State. More than half my family went there so I have to like them. I am going to pick SJSU today against Bowling Green. San Jose's defensive pressure is outstanding, Their QB is good and they have a good running game. The receivers for San Jose are good and they might just have the best TE in the Nation. I have only seen Bowling Green play one game and they got smoked by my favorite team Virginia Tech, the score was 47-0. The next game of the day is Cincinnati against Duke. Both teams are fairly good but I am going to have to go with Cincinnati on this one. They have a fast QB who can wear out the defense and he has a good arm so I am going with Cincinnati. The last game of the day is the best one, Baylor vs UCLA. I am going to pick UCLA but it will be a close game. Jonathon Franklin of UCLA is going to be the game changer. Baylor does have some very good players like Terrence Williams and their RB Seastrunk. Virginia Tech plays Rutgers tomorrow and I am not sure who will win this game but I have to go with Virginia Tech. Bud Foster's defense and special teams will come up with something in the end to stop Rutgers. Logan Thomas might have a good game against Rutgers but I think Michael Holmes and J.C. Coleman will eat it up tomorrow.

The NFL has some games that mean a lot but not much. The Cowboys against the Redskins is definitely the game that matters most. I am picking the Redskins, I think RGIII is going to be a headache for the Cowboys and then put along Alfred Morris with Roger Griffin III it will be painful for the Cowboys D trying to chase those guys around. I am almost positive that the Bears will win and the Vikings will lose. The Bears just will not let the Vikings make the playoffs and they don't. I believe that the Seahawks will beat the Rams and the Niners will lose the division title.

Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve everybody. It was a holly jolly day in the NFL yesterday. The NBA will have some playoff contenders and some some playoff pretenders play tomorrow. College has some BIG bowl games coming up. Lets review the NFL scores from yesterday

The Seahawks smoked the 49ers in a big Sunday night football game. The Giants probably just got knocked out of the playoff race after getting blown out by the Ravens. The Bears kept their hopes alive while the Packers clinched that division. The Vikings only need to win their last game and they get their wild card spot. If the Seahawks win and the 49ers lose, the Seahawks win the division and Niners would have to settle for a wild card spot. The Steelers are out of the playoffs after losing to the playoff clinching Bengals. The Redskins keep getting better and better, a win against the Cowboys this weekend will give them a playoff spot. That's it for the NFL today.

The NBA will have some games on Christmas day. I think Brooklyn will beat the Celtics. Deron Williams and Rajon Rondo is a pretty even match up but Joe Johnson will eat up whoever guards him. The Knicks will smash on the Lakers just like they did last time. Carmelo and J.R. Smith are just going to be draining threes on the outside. Thunder at Miami is probably the best game. I think it will come down to the last shot. I am looking forward to seeing Durant against Lebron. I am positive Houston will beat Chicago, it doesn't matter how close it is but Houston will win. James Harden is the perfect player to give the ball to when you need a score. The Bulls had that type of player in D-Rose but they are missing that right now. The Clippers are going to win against the Nuggets, considering the roll the Clippers are on right now they will win.

Fresno State will beat Southern Methodist. I mean, who is that college. I think Central Michigan will win against Western Kentucky. I saw Central Michigan play once and their quarterback is outstanding. It does help that the running back is pretty good too but the quarterback is great.

Day 2 and I'm still here

Hi I am back and excited because my Raiders and Warriors won. We will review Sunday's games and the two bowl games. The Warriors are back home and they started off hot beating the Hornets.

Arizona was able to pull of a last second touchdown against Nevada, they were down by 21 points at one time in the game. Utah State smoked Toledo 41-15, Holy Toledo!

Atlanta showed that they are definitely the best team in the NFL and they showed that the Giants are overrated. The Redskins won and are holding a first place position in the NFC East playoff race. The Niners barely held off the Pats after a miraculous comeback by Tom Brady. The Packers won which clinched the NFC North by beating the Bears. The Bears are on a losing streak and just getting farther away from the playoffs. Houston beat the Colts showing the AFC who is boss after getting demolished by the Patriots. The Vikings won following Adrian Peterson's 214 yards getting their wild card spot. The Broncos beat down the Ravens handing the them their 5th loss. The Steelers lost while they are edging away from the playoff race.

My bowl predictions for the week. I think SDSU will be wear out BYU's defense. SDSU is very fast and scores quickly. The defense for BYU is too slow for that offense. Ball State is going to have to beat UCF. Ball State wants some redemption after losing in the MAC championship game. UL Lafayette will beat East Carolina. Lafayette has beaten and challenged very good teams. Florida almost lost to them, they had a punt block in the last seconds to win. Boise State will smoke Washington State. Boise is an underrated team. they are pretty fast like always and their defense is actually decent this year.

San Jose State signed a new coach, Ron Caragher. he is from my town Morgan Hill. He was very successful at San Diego being 42-20 and 3 titles. He will not coach the Military bowl but he will be there. He may be able to start off very successful if almost all the coaches and players stay.

The Lakers are on a 3 game winning streak and Pau Gasol is back which is a big plus. The Warriors are back home coming off a 6-1 road trip. The Grizzlies are still hot competing for the best record in the west against the Thunder. The Knicks are still on top in the East. James Harden and Rockets have a great chance of finally making the playoffs this year. I cant wait for Christmas day, the NBA has some of the best games of the year. Christmas will decide if some teams are for real or if they are a joke.

I am done for today I will be back Christmas Eve remember to comment suggestions, Thanks

Week 1 Day 1 Let's Go

Hi!  My name is Patrick Carr.  I'm an 8th grade sports fanatic.  My mom used to call me Rain Man when it came to sports but I just think I happen to like sports all the time.  There are a lot of blogs and websites that talk about sports BUT not many, if any, are written by a 13 year old.  I will give my thoughts on football, basketball and major league baseball a couple of times a week.  Let me know what you think, send comments or suggestions and "It's game time!".

I am going to give my bowl predictions for the next few days.

I think Arizona will be able to pull off a tight win against Nevada. Arizona's wins against big teams will be able to give them the clutch performance by their defense and their offense.
To me, Utah State is going to win this game by at least 10 points, their fast quarterback will lead their fast offense to the red zone just about every time. Utah State's defensive pressure will sack Toledo's quarterback  a couple of times and will make him run. If Toledo had a running game it will be gone in this game.

Time for the NBA now. There have been lots of disappointments with teams and there have been lots of great surprises. I don't know what is wrong with the Lakers, they have been close in just about every game but they just can't pull it off. The Lakers are 1-10 when Kobe Bryant scores over 30. I think Dwight Howard is playing the best out of any of the Lakers, Mike D'Antoni should know that they have one of the best centers in the game. A great surprise is the Golden State Warriors, 15-7! I probably am a little biased being a Warriors fan and a Lakers hater but the Warriors are playing great. The Heat have been disappointing lately, Lebron has not been playing well down the stretch again.

In the MLB there has been BIG money signings. Josh Hamilton signing with the Angels for a 5 year 127 million dollars! That is crazy! I hope there aren't anymore blockbuster trades. I hate those it's "saying our team is terrible so lets stack another team and start over so we will be good in 10 years!"

The NFL has a big weekend coming up. I think the 49ers will pull it off against the Patriots, the Falcons are going to blow out the Giants. The Falcons are 10-0 after a loss. Chicago is going to keep their NFC North championship hopes alive. Baltimore is going to lose again to the Broncos, their defense has been one of the worst lately and trying to stop Peyton Manning right now is almost impossible. Washington is going to win this weekend and the NFC west, the Colts are going to pull off a last second field goal win against the Texans. The Texans defense has been terrible and Andrew Luck has been great but what has been most surprising to me is their defense it stops high powered offenses. Dallas is going to keep Wild Card hopes alive after beating Pittsburgh this weekend.

Thats it for me for me today. I will be back in a few days. Comment suggestions please.
